From time immemorial, the Eastern region of Kenya had been plagued by drought, famine and acute food shortages exacerbated by the unpredictable rainfall. The residents of this region, where Mbuvo Commercial Village is located, were known to be dependent on alms and food aid. Not anymore! Five years since Farm Concern International began its work in Makueni, Mbuvo Commercial Village is now a trading bloc with numerous business transactions to report, and strong relationships with players in both the formal and informal sectors.
