The scale of value addition in Agricultural commodities communicates advanced partnerships in graduation of smallholder farmers into vibrant and competitive Agro-SMEs for increased returns for smallholders. FCI, has designed innovative village Agro-processing units with capability of processing roots and tubers, cereal and pulses, fruits and vegetables, livestock products, spices and herbal plants. The processing innovations include; Mobile motorized/electric, oxen drawn chippers, manual operated chippers as well as hummer mills for roots and tuber processing into dry chips, composite flours, high quality Cassava flours, starch among other products. FCI village Food processing capability also include home based animal feeds formulation, Dairy products processing, ready to eat (RTE)snacks, baked goods and fruit and vegetables juices. These products are assured of safety and quality through standardized processing and packaging procedures and normally trade under the brand name ‘Kijiji Products’.
